Mairead bracken is an Irish harpist and singer from Co Cork. She began playing music at a very Young age inspired by her family many of whom are noted musicians both from west Cork and Cork City. She studied with the renowned Harper Maire Mi Chathasaigh and has many all-Ireland titles for both harp and voice to her credit.
She studied music at University College Cork under the acclaimed Dr Micheal O Suilleabhain and also graduated with a first class teaching qualification in music in 1994.
Mairead has travelled extensively sharing her talents in France, Germany, USA and the Middle East for many years. She was invited to played at St James Palace London for her majesty Queen Elizabeth 2. Closer to home Maireads musical talents have been regularly called upon to entertain important visitors to our country and indeed our own former presidents Mary Robinson and Mary McAleese.
Her style is understated and ethereal, her singing is heart felt and warm.
